The Southwest Music Archive is located in the Southwest Collection/Special Collections Library on the campus of Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas. The Southwest Music Archive is celebrating its twentieth year collecting music materials of all genres. The archive contains over two-hundred music collections from the Southwest region of the United States and continues to grow. The archive is the official repository of Michael Martin Murphey, the Kerrville Folk Festival, the Tommy and Charlene Hancock Family, Odis “Pop” Echols, and Don Caldwell Studios. The archive also houses collections from The Maines Brothers, Terry Allen, and Jesse “Guitar” Taylor, among many others.
