The Southwest Collection/Special Collection Library houses a number of archives within its building, including the Texas Tech University Archives, the Crossroads of Music, and the Sowell Collection. The largest of the archives is the Southwest Collection, which collects, preserves and makes available information on the southwest with covers the areas of Texas, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Arizona, California and Mexico.
