dc.descriptionNegative of African American students turning their backs in silent protest of the Unity Day ceremonies, as well as the Texas Attorney General's overturning of Texas Tech's sanctions against the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity and Fashion Board student organizations for holding a "Party in the Projects" mixer on October 9, 1992. The student holding up his hand is Issac Garnett. Another identified student is Sean Johnson. A similar, close up version of this image appears on page 21 of the 1993 La Ventana yearbook.en_US
