Description
Portrait of Robert Montemayor taken on February 28, 2002. Montemayor was the first Texas Tech Hispanic student to serve as editor of the campus newspaper. A 1975 journalism major, he was awarded a Pulitzer Prize for Meritorious Public Service in 1984 part of the 1983 Los Angeles Times newspaper team that produced a 21-part series of stories on Latinos in Southern California. In 2012, Montemayor was inducted into the Texas Tech University College of Media and Communication's Hall of Fame.
