Description
Mounted photograph of the first Texas Tech professors promoted to the rank of Horn Professor by the Board of Directors. The label attached to the back of the image states "First Horn Professors, Texas Tech professors nationally known in their fields, were announced. From left to right: Dr. Ernest Wallace, well-known historian on the American frontier; Dr. J. Carl Hammer, a top Germanic studies scholar; Elo J. Urbanovsky, widely-recognized authority on parks and recreational areas; and Dr. F. Alton Wade, a leading specialist on the Antarctic.”
