Photograph of soldiers with horses pulling a machine gun in a parade lead by General John J. "Black Jack" Pershing on Sept. 17, 1919. The photograph was taken by Bradford Knapp, who was the second president of Texas Technological College. The back of the photo is labeled "Gun which fired the first shot for America in the war, and two corporals who fired it are on the float."
