Photograph of Jack Tippitt, Dan Howard and Sylvan Dunn. The accompanying press release states: "GIFT TO EX-STUDENTS ASSOCIATION -- Texas Tech Ex-Student Jack Tippitt, nationally-recognized cartoonist, left, presents some 300 original drawings of a strip, 'Dr. Bill,' to Dan Howard, vice president of the Texas Tech Loyalty Fund of the Texas Tech Ex-Students Association, center. In turn, the Loyalty Fund officials passed them along to the Southwest Collection for safekeeping. Accepting for the Southwest Collection was its director, Sylvan Dunn. Tippitt was named a distinguished alumnus of Tech in 1967, the same year he was voted "Top Magazine Cartoonist of the Year" for a second time. (Tech Photo)"
