"The Catalyst" is comprised of 8 pages of student written articles, editorials, satires and political statements. This issue covered topics such The Catalyst's filing a complaint with the Federal District Clerk over Texas Tech's banning of the paper and editorials on the censure; Lubbock's sponsoring of a drug hotline; Student Body Presidential candidate Grant Foreman; the dedication of the new Law School; the Supreme Court; conviction of the Chicago Seven; women's liberation in Lubbock; women running for office at Texas Tech; drug enforcement; defacing of American flag at Coronado High School; the Southwest '70 Peace Festival at Yellowhouse Canyon; a Board of Regents meeting; gender issues and dating; and the Vietnam war. The issue is dated February 24 - March 10, 1970, and sold for 15 cents.
