dc.descriptionNegative of Emil Joseph Holub holding up his football jersey at the "E. J. Holub Day" event held on December 19, 1960 in Lubbock, Texas. Lubbock Mayor David C. Casey proclaimed the day "E. J. Holub Day." Holub received national recognition in 1960 for his numerous athletic achievements, including him being Texas Tech's football player to be selected for the national All-American football team. Texas Tech Athletic Director Polk Robinson retired Holub's "55" football jersey. Holub passed away on September 21, 2019.en_US
