Undated photograph of Robert Custer Albin which had been originally taped to his February 11, 1964, personal and professional data bank form.
Robert Custer Albin was born on May 19, 1939, in Beaver City, Oklahoma. He received his M.S. in 1962 animal husbandry from Texas Technological College and his Ph.D. in animal science in 1965 from the University of Nebraska. In 1964, Albin was offered an assistant professor position in the Department of Animal Husbandry at Texas Tech. He was promoted to the rank of associate professor in 1973, and has served in the capacities of department chair person and associate dean over the years.
