Abstract

Description

Twenty-five page brief submitted by the Amarillo Committee to the Locating Board for Texas Technological College. Eleven black and white photographs have been inserted into the brief and depict the Hotel Amarillo; the Santa Fe Depot; an unidentified paved highway leading into Amarillo; a heard of cattle feeding; a bumper wheat crop; a field of Kaffir corn; the Municipal Auditorium, home of the American Legion; the Great West Mill; a scenic view of Palo Duro Canyon; a "Palatial Home"; and "Polk Street Looking South." Also included is a map showing the Santa Fe, Rock Island and Fort Worth & Denver Railraods leading into Amarillo, and a map showing streets, highways, railroads and proposed land plots for the new college. The seven page supplementary brief consists of three typed pages and three blueprints, which are of drawings of the exterior and interiors of two proposed "High Class Dormitories."
