Description
33 page proposal submitted by the Committee for the Abilene Chamber of Commerce to the Locating Board for Texas Technological College. The 34 page bound photograph book contains seventeen 8 x 10 black and white photographs that are interleaved with pages containing captions for each photograph. The cover is titled "Photographic Views of Abilene Texas" and the images are of: Lake Abilene; the Central Power Station; a view of Butternut and Hickory Street, and Sayles Boulevard; the U.S. Weather Observatory; the West Texas Baptist Sanitarium; the First Christian Church; the First Baptist Church; the Carnegie Public Library; the Abilene Country Club; and various attractive homes in Abilene. Separate from these two bound items are 7 loose maps displaying transportation lines, proposed lots to be used for the new college, population, and geological formations.
