Description
The digital file consists of four issues of the Tex Talks publication published by the Texas Tech Ex-Students Association. The January, 1961, issue is four pages long and includes such topics as the hiring of R. C. Goodwin and Polk Robinson; the promotions of J. T. King and William M. Pearce; the resignation of DeWitt Weaver; and the election of Clint Formby.
The May, 1961, issue is four pages long and includes such topics as a name change proposal for Texas Tech; three new members elected to the Board of Directors; five new members of the coaching staff; the groundbreaking for an addition to the Science Building; and a history of the Home Management House.
The July, 1961, issue is four pages long and includes such topics the interest in establishing a Medical School at Tech; the retirement of five original faculty members; the observance of Tech Day; and the formation of the Century Club.
The October, 1961, issue marks a change in the format of the publication to a smaller size and paper quality. It is eight pages long and includes such topics as Lyndon B. Johnson's upcoming speech at the first annual dinner meet of the Century Club; the expansion of the Tech Union; Gene Gibson named as the new basketball coach; the retirement of W. R. "Bill" Rodgers from the Tech Farms; the relocation of Animal Husbandry facilities; and the donation of a music library.
