Description

"The Catalyst" is comprised of 12 pages of student written articles, satires and political statements. This issue covered topics such as interviews with Lubbock Mayor James Granberry and District Attorney Blair Cherry; increase in bike thefts on the Tech campus; editoral on Tech's policy against due process for student suspension; the invasion of Laos; not paying for meals in restaurants; music record reviews; the Houston Peace Action Coalition; establishment of the Lubbock Draft Information Center; part II on marijuana usage; legal implications for drug possession; a satire "wanted" ad for Waggoner Carr; and the newly formed Majority Coalition's meeting in Lubbock. The issue is the dated February 17 - March 3, 1971, and sold for 25 cents.
