Description
The digital file consists of four issues of the Tex Talks publication published by the Texas Tech Ex-Students Association. The February, 1952, issue is four pages long and concerns the Loyalty Fund Drive fundraiser.
The May, 1952, issue is four pages long and includes such topics as Tech's rejected bid to join the Southwest Conference; Dossie M. Wiggins resignation as the fifth president of Texas Tech; the passing of Mary Doak, Dean of women; the formal opening of the new Music Building and the growth of the Department of Music; and professor William M. Pearce receiving his Ph.D.
The August, 1952, issue is four pages long and includes such topics as the naming of E. N. Jones as the new president; Tech becoming the first college in Texas to have a Guernsey herd; the national chartering of Pi Omega Pi; the hiring of Ronald Schulz in the Speech Department; and Mary Dabney being named Physical Education program head.
The October, 1952, issue is four pages long and includes such topics as nominations for officers of the Ex-Students Association; approval for enlarging the stadium; 25 foreign students enrolled at Tech; Carl Coke Rister's appointment as director of the newly established Southwest Collection; discussions with national sororities; Herman Glaser's work with radio-isotopes; and Tech being incorporated into the Lubbock city limits.
