Although the scrapbook is dated from 1932 to 1940 on the cover, there is actually information dating back to 1928 within the book itself. Included are handwritten notes, calendar of events, the names of the students living in the house, photographs, news clippings, and memorabilia. The young ladies living in the management house learned skills such as budgeting, home management skills, and cooking. Adults resided with the students and caring for a young child was often part of the program as well. The babies shown in this scrapbook are Gordon "Buddy" Stuart and Ronald Ross "Butch" Purvis. Condition wise the scrapbook has very fragile paper, loose items, loose binding, and there appear to be several items/photos and pages missing. The front and back covers are cracked.210 p. : 30.5 cm.en-USThe digital images and files in this collection are for study purposes, teaching, classroom projection and research only.
