This issue contained articles on the newly established Free Speech Area at Texas Tech, monitoring of homosexual activity in the Administration Building, an anti-war editorial, a protest riot on campus, marijuana, the Texas International Pop Festival, and the rock group Santana. The issue sold for 10 cents.The Catalyst was an underground and controversial newspaper written by Texas Tech students from 1969-1971.
