Description
"The Catalyst: A Special Altruistic Project for the Long-Range Benefit of the Student Body" is comprised of 6 pages of student written articles, editorials, satires and political statements. This issue contained articles on the newly established Free Speech Area at Texas Tech, monitoring of homosexual activity in the Administration Building, an anti-war editorial, a protest riot on campus, marijuana, the Texas International Pop Festival, and the rock group Santana. The issue sold for 10 cents.
The Catalyst was an underground and controversial newspaper written by Texas Tech students from 1969-1971. The newspaper contained political and social statements and parodies on events occuring during the time of the paper's existence.
