Ali Reza Amir-Moez was born on April 7, 1919, in Tehran, Iran. He received his M.A. in 1951 and his Ph.D. in 1955, with both degrees coming from the University of California at Los Angeles. In 1965, he was hired as a Professor of Mathematics at Texas Technological College. He retired on August 31, 1988.
