Ahmed Yousef Abdel-Razaq was born on December 4, 1930, in Um-El-Fahem, Israel. He received his M.S.C.E. in 1964 and his Ph.D. in 1966, with both degrees coming from New Mexico State University. In 1966, he was accepted an assistant professor position in the Department of Civil Engineering at Texas Technological College. He resigned in 1968 to accept a position at the University of Saskatchewan.
