1980 photograph of James Keith Bearden.
James Keith Bearden was born on March 17, 1947. He received his B.A. (1969) and M.Ed. (1975) from Texas Tech. Bearden had also served in the Air Force and traveled to numerous countries. In 1980, he was hired on as an assistant professor in the Department of Music at Texas Tech. Bearden retired as a Professor Emeritus in May, 2003, after 23 years as Director of the the "Goin' Band from Raiderland" and as associate director of bands.
