Undated photograph of John Henry Baumgardner which is taped to his September 10, 1949, personal and professional data bank form.
John Henry Baumgardner was born on May 15, 1916 in Collingsworth County, Texas. He received his B.S in 1939 and his M.S. in 1940, both degrees in Animal Husbandry at Texas Technological College. After serving in the Air Force from 1942-1945, Baumgardner was offered an assistant professor position in the Department of Animal Science at his alma mater. He retired with the rank of Professor on May 31, 1976.
