dc.description.abstractRafael Palmeiro discusses his life growing up in Cuba and then moving to Miami at the age of 9. He discusses his high school career and then his collegiate career at Mississippi State University. He also discusses his major league baseball career. He is one of only four major league players to have reached both 3,000 hits and 500 home runs. This interview was done during Palmeiro's visit to Lubbock, Tex., for his 2009 induction to the College Baseball Foundation's Hall of Fame.en_US
