Abstract
This interview is part of recording Texas Tech University history. Stella graduated from Lubbock's Dunbar High School and was the first non-transfer African American student to graduate from Texas Tech University. Recently retired after a distinguished teaching career, Stella Courtney was in Lubbock, Tex., tending to her mother's estate when interviewed.
