Negative of the new School of Medicine groundbreaking ceremony at Texas Tech University taken on February 2, 1973. Texas Tech President Grover E. Murray is pictured with a shovel at the far left and Preston Smith, former Texas governor who signed the bill establishing the Texas Tech School of Medicine, is pictured in the dark suit forth from the right.
