Description

Mr. Narvaiz's parents migrated to the Lubbock area in the 40s. They worked as farm laborers. Robert attended Lorenzo Junior High and Lorenzo High School. He was the first Mexican-American to graduate Lorenzo High School. He attended Draughons Business College in Lubbock, and he served in the U.S. Marine Corps. Robert has been involved with the GI Forum of Lubbock, Fiestas del Llano, and Pancho Clos events in Lubbock. He was also involved with the Guadalupe Catholic Church in Lubbock. He is married to Bea Narvaiz
The collection consists of printed material, newspaper clippings, and photographs related to Lubbock's Pancho Clos events and the Lubbock American GI Forum chapter. The photographs illustrate the Pancho Clos event in Lubbock. Most of the printed material relates to the Pancho Clos event, a Mexican-American take on Santa Clos. The event was started by the American GI Forum of Lubbock, Texas. The collection also contains a white Pancho Clos sweatshirt.
