Abstract

Description

1967 photograph of the first group of students attending their first class in the new Texas Tech School Law School. The class was held in a temporary building while the Law School Building was under construction. The donor of the photograph, Alvin R. Allison, was a Board of Regents member and is pictured addressing the students. The press release which accompanies a duplicate copy of the photograph, image # P825, states "LAW SCHOOL CONVENES -- Dr. Richard B. Amandes, Dean of Texas Tech's new School of Law, formally addresses the Law School student body for the first time Monday morning. The school got down to business Monday after being greeted by Tech President Grover E. Murray and Levelland Attorney Alvin R. Allison, member of the Tech Board of Directors and 'father of the Law School.'" (Tech Photo)
