Abstract

Description

Photograph of J.T. King holding up a logo featuring the Masked Rider and Double T taken in 1965. The accompanying press release tucked behind the photograph states "RED RAIDER GOES TO WAR -- Texas Tech football coach J.T. King and Lt. Arlene Greisch, of East Rockaway, N.Y., a nurse at Reese Air Force Base, admire a reproduction of the Red Raider, symbol of Tech's athletic teams. M/Sgt. Carles (cq) Johnson of Henderson AFB, Guam, wrote Tech asking for a copy of the symbol so that shoulder patches could be made for members of his B-52 crew who call themselves the Red Raiders. Johnson's plane currently is flying missions into Viet Nam. (Tech Photo)" and "Editors: Lt. Greisch's last name is pronounced 'Gresh.'"
