Abstract

Description

Photograph of a woman holding up a sign with Arabic writing. The caption taped to the back of the photo states: "WELCOME -- Mrs. Malaka S. Finco is Texas Tech University's new instructor of Arabic in the Department of Classical and Romance Languages. The Arabic she has written translates to the English word, 'Welcome.' Registration for her classes in beginning Arabic will take place Aug. 26-29. The jewelry Mrs. Finco is wearing is typical of her homeland, Egypt, and hers is a copy of a necklace worn by Cleopatra.
