Negative of contestants of the Miss Black Texas Tech beauty pageant taken on February 10, 1979. This image appears on page 3 of the February 12, 1979 issue of The University Daily newspaper with the caption "MISS BLACK TEXAS TECH - Cheryl White, far right, won the title of Miss Black Texas Tech Saturday night. White is a sophomore advertising major from San Antonio. She also won Miss Congeniality. Contestants also pictured from right to left, are Vickie Sumler, Jeanine Bailey, Sherril Railey, second runner-up, and Linda Hunter, first runner-up.
