The PDF for the 4/8/67 meeting is 187 pages long and covers topics such as: approval for new masters of art degree in Journalism; amendment of the tenure policy; approval for the design of a school flag and the offer by Chi Rho fraternity to pay for a flag pole for the new flag; creation of a committee to consider the matter of a name change for the college; and numerous building project updates including remodeling of the Administration Building basement, renovations for four dormitories, approval of the exterior design of the Museum, renovation of the Student Union Building, finalization of plans for the Wiggins Complex, and authorization to pursue establishing a research park at Texas Tech of approximately 150 acres; a committee created by Student Senate to assist with the name change effort; and approval to offer Dr. Byron Abernethy a full professorship with tenure in an effort to get Texas Tech removed from censorship by the AAUP.
