This is a planar map showing a cross-section of the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railroad System in 1884 as it ranged from its original eastern terminus in Atchison, Kansas to its western terminus in Guayamas, Sonora, Mexico. The map illustrates the elevation at the various stops along the route from sea level in Sonora to more than 7,000 feet at Raton and Glorieta passes. The map also shows the mileage of the route from station to station.
Inset map: Map of the main line and swtich-back over Raton Mountain.
