Scope and Content:

This is a collection of two microfilmed scrapbooks with various newspaper clippings, photographs, and other printed material.

Organization:

Scrapbook number one discusses the history of the community of Rule in western Haskell County, Texas. Many of the newspaper clippings are from the local newspaper called the Rule Review, with many of the articles being written by E. J. Cloud, who wrote many articles chronicling the history of Rule which were called The Story of Rule. Early history of the community and region are discussed in these clippings.

Scrapbook number two pertains more to the Lisle family and the cotton gin they managed. Comprised of photographs and printed material, information in this scrapbook discusses the activities of the Lisle Cotton Gin. A typed history of the Lisle family and the cotton gin is contained in this collection.
