Dan Atcheson was a member of the Lubbock based Velveteens in the 1960s. He played drums in the band, which also included his brothers Mike and Tim, John Scarborough, and Rick Carnrick. They signed a recording contract with Golden Artist records and had a billboard four star single with “Ching Bam Bah” in 1965. The band later changed their name to The Traveling Salesmen and played throughout the 1960s and 1970s.
