Description

"The Catalyst" is comprised of 12 pages of student written articles, satires and political statements. This issue covered topics such as a segment on corrupt officials which included Preston Smith and Elmer Baum; criminals Charles Manson and Lt. William "Rusty" Calley; Lubbock officers joining a union; draft counseling; bail bond companies in Lubbock; drug enforcement and marijuana use; the American Civil Liberties Union stance on abortion; and healthy foods. The issue is the dated April 14-28, 1971, and sold for 25 cents.
