Abstract

Description

"The Catalyst" is comprised of 12 pages of student written articles, satires and political statements. This issue covered topics such as a spoof on the ongoing battle between The Catalyst and the Lubbock Avalache-Journal's Charlie Guy; a divide in the Black Panther's organization; pictures from "Black Week"; the "Confessions of a Teen-Age Drug Abuser"; the arrests of political activists Phillip and Daniel Barrigan; bicycling; music reviews; a complaint against Lubbock's music radio stations KLBK and KSEL; the People's Peace Treaty and May Day; and a full page ad for the "1st Annual Reefer Roll and Dance." The issue is the dated March 6 - April 7, 1971, and sold for 25 cents.
