Photograph of the first Texas Tech professors promoted to the rank of Horn Professor by the Board of Directors. Pictured, left to right, Ernest Wallace, F. Alton Wade, Elo J. Urbanovosky and Carl Hammer. The accompanying press release states "HORN PROFESSORS NAMED -- Four Texas Tech professors were awarded Horn Professorships Saturday (June 3) by the university's Board of Directors. The four are the first to be named to the professorships which were created by the Board in 1966 in honor of Tech's first president, Paul W. Horn. Selected were, left to right, Dr. Ernest Wallace, Dr. F. Alton Wade, Elo J. Urbanovsky and Dr. Carl Hammer."
